49. FIRST AID
Knowledge of immediate and emergency help for the injured. It includes knowledge of how to open an airway, give artificial ventilation, external chest compression, the recovery position, controlling bleeding, relieve suffocation and choking, help deal with heart attacks and strokes, fractures and muscle injuries, burns and scalds. As well as calling for assistance, examining a casualty, multiple casualties, handling and transporting casualties.

This skill does not include any surgery, drug prescribing (other than simple pain killers), or any serious wounding.

Can be linked with Cultures, Alien races, Lift, Swim, Treat poison, Treat disease, Folklore, Botany, Chemistry, Human biology, Xenobiology, Pharmacology.
NOTE: First aid is a life sustainer only, not a complete remedy in serious cases, it halts the condition from worsening in most cases, but extra proper help is needed if a serious problem occurs.

1-20 Self-taught/inexperience quality.
21-40 First aid course.
41-55 Course attended regularly with some experience.
56-70 Competent professional first aider.
71+ Experienced first aider, probably in many environments and conditions.
