52. LAW
Knowledge of the general rules of the governing body which controls the characters sphere of activity or habitation. It gives knowledge of restrictions, prohibitions and rights of the populace of the characters own city, state, country, world or whatever is in government or in charge. At higher Ratings (25+) it allows reasoning on the effects and procedures once a law has been broken.

Linked with almost every skill in some capacity. When the Rating reaches 70% the character (unless professionally involved with the law service) must take a Speciality law skill with a Rating equal to 50% of the current basic skill. This is either a more detailed understanding of a small area of laws (i.e. gun laws), or a particular system of laws (i.e. Corpbridge Security, Feudal Japan, Mars colonies etc.).

1-20 General rules of the land, may not be aware of minor offences.
21-40 Knows many laws well and their punishment for breaking them. (Patrolperson).
41-61 In-depth knowledge of all common laws and their punishments, as well as the procedure for law officers to carry out said laws. (Law officer).
62-80 Has a deep understanding of how laws develop and are instigated or removed. Has a working knowledge of laws and knows many uncommon laws. (Judge).
81+ Ability to understand the workings of alien law systems and use them. Knows very rare laws and restrictions not in common usage.
