53. RESEARCH
Ability to collate and correlate data on a specific task if the data is recorded, known or being studied at the time of the research. Although many scientists are called researchers they usually have a background training in one or more fields of science and are classed as appropriate. Low-Tech characters will be less familiar with the techniques of research, usually due to a lack of recorded data and low-level science knowledge. High-Tech characters will have a much greater understanding and ability to research as recorded data is usually much greater as well as access to this data being easier. If the data required is stored on a computer then often the speed of the research is reduced dramatically, compared with paper records.

The Rating determines knowledge of where to begin the research task, how to collate the data, how to store the data, correlating the data, presenting the data and the resourcefulness and determination of the character to carry out the task. This is all modified by timeline, Tech-level, MIND, STA, beliefs, resources, time to research and the difficulty of the data required.
