VAPOURISE

Ulistarqueb

This is considered a Death Manc as the effect is permanent and even if the victim can be somehow restored to their former form, they are dead. It is a simple effect in that it transforms the target into a vapour. The vapour is a heavy water-like vapour which does have a Manc aura until it dissipates. The vapour from the victim will be at the whim of nature and the environment, although its density does make it slow to disperse, compared to say, normal water vapour. Usually a servemen whom has been vapourised takes around three Rounds to dissipate in a gentle breeze in a temperate climate. Warmer climates or more hostile winds will of course alter this dramatically. Likewise, a colder climate and no wind may extend this period of dissipation. It matters little to the victim for the Vaporise kills the victim if living or destroys it if unliving.

Only whole parts that have clear line of sight can be targeted. For example, seeing an opponent through a crowd means not all of them would be Vapourised, only those areas the user could see clearly; an arm, leg or part of the torso etc. However if all of the target is clearly visible to the user, and all in line of sight, then all of the target becomes vapourised. Also, using the same scene, in the crowd it is possible that a random non-target could pass through the line of sight as the vapourising occurs, meaning that they may instead take on the Manc and become the victim instead.

As already explained as this Manc is an instant death Manc, there is no negation for this Manc, only blocking Manc will work against it. For example anything that blocks line of sight or obscures the target will prevent its use against them, likewise Invisible Wall, although it allows line of sight, blocks this Manc as it needs the line of sight to travel from the user to the target. this does mean, of course, if the target was aware of the user's intentions they could, if agile enough dodge or evade the Manc attack. This would most likely cause the user to accidentally strike another victim or obstacle instead of the target. If, some how the vapour can all be captured before it is lost to the elements, perhaps with Freeze Manc, Slow, or blowing it into a vessel, it is possible to return the target to its original form. Restoration will do this, but if it was a living target then the target remains dead. Then a Raise Dead would be needed to revive the victim. If the target was something such as a Manc item, say a staff for example, then although the staff would be returned to its earlier form, and count as Maiden for the effects of imbuing it with Manc, it would have lost any Manc already imbued upon it as it was destroyed. Only by altering time, could a Vaporised victim or object be returned to its original state completely.

At creation, increasing the Power Levels by 2 will double the Range indicated and may be raised multiple times (i.e. +2 Power Levels = Range x 2; +4 Power Levels = Range x 3; +6 Power Levels = Range x 4 etc.).
