Race

On the character sheet is a line marked SEX/RACE. This is where you should note the race for your character. Usually Race is mentioned after the SEX (gender of the character), but you may wish to determine this later. The SEX/RACE line should look something like the following examples:-

Races are many and the DM should give you guidence before you go off to choose one for your character.

Your character Conception may aid in this decision, for example if you planned on creating a bossy, tough, brave character, it is easier if that character is tall or large in body, however, it is very interesting to play a character of this type who is in fact small and diminutive. If your character is to be shy, some races lean to this naturally. If you wish a Mancer, then some races are very magical while others are resistant to it.

Another thing to consider when choosing a race is the Character Type you wish to play. some races are very Lawful and find it difficult to be Stealthlings, while others are chaotic and would find it difficult to be Mancers or Knights who must adhere to a code or laws.

You should not choose a race because it gets the best bonuses in your opinion, or because it would cause a stir as they are rare, strange, disturbing, or difficult for many other characters to get along with. Although you can play an argumentative or cumudgenly character, you should not go out of your way to disrupt the party and ths game play for others.

Always discuss a race you are considering with the DM if you are not familier with that race.
