ARCHAIC WEAPONS

This includes all weapons used in a melee' fashion typical of pre-firearm technology and includes swords, axes, maces, etc. Each type must be taken separately although use in one may give a bonus to gathering another similar-type weapon Rating. Each individual weapon type may also be Specific, giving a bonus to use at different levels depending upon the type and Specific chosen. 
Default fast draw: DEX ÷ 10
Default off-hand: Acc -12

Types include: Sword, 2-H Sword, Axe, Flail, Club, Polearm, Lance, Net, Spear, Knife.
(Bows, slings etc. are covered elsewhere).
 

Type Tree:

Sword = 2-H Sword, Knife.
2-H Sword = Sword, Axe, Club.
Axe = 2-H Sword, Club.
Flail = None.
Club = Axe.

Polearm = Spear.
Lance = Spear.
Net = None.
Spear = Polearm, 2-H Sword.
Knife = Sword, Club.
Specifics may be taken at creation and initial points placed directly into the Specific. Experience points may then be placed into the Specific and if wished, and if applicable points are available, may be placed into the base skill. Once the base skill reaches 40 or above a new Specific may be taken, if applicable, and this new Specific starts at 50% of the current Base Skill Rating or if connected on the Type Tree 75%.
