PEZ

PezCommon throughout the Lands of Law and beyond into the Uncharted Lands. Principally a large creature, it has four, thin, but strong legs and hoofed feet. A large head with eyes almost on the sides of the head, and two pointed ears atop the head.

They are herbivorous and travel in herds. It is a diversified species and has many different strains, dependent upon their terrain, climate and food sources. Often captured and used as mounts, food or beasts of burden by many races across the 7th Plane.

Considered stupid by many they are nervous, astute individuals but tend to follow their leader of the herd, usually a male (or stallion). they bare live young, usually only one. These newborn pez are called foals, regardless of sex. A male becomes a colt after it's first Dodecate, while a female becomes a filly. Male pez after four Dodecates, become stallions, except castrated or de-sexed pez, which are instead called geldings. Females over four Dodecates are called mares.

Every pez can do the normal gaits: walk, trot and run. Trained gaits need trainer to use care and discipline in order for it to learn. The gentler the better. Some pez however are untrainable.

They are often confused with the magical Allent, but there is only the physical resemblance to link them in any way. Pez are generally frightened of any sudden and loud noises, fire or strange events.

Pez are measured in 'Hands' approximately 4". Average pez are between 14-16 Hands high at the withers. Average weight is 840-1,200 lbs. Any pez below this is usually not considered a pez but called a pony. Ponies are almost identical to pez in all but size, but are often hardier, thriving in colder or more desolate regions or even mountains. Pez dominate the warmer, richer open plains and hills and are generally faster.

There are several varieties of pez and many are unique bred specimens or strains of long-bred stock.
